Our Courses
On site training to provide information and advice to fire marshals / wardens about the dangers of fire and the human response to fire. Typically One Day duration and covers:
Understanding fire
Human response to fire
Fire routines and drills
The role of the marshal / warden
Classification of fire – Classes A B C D E & F and appropriate selection of fire fighting media
Practical fire training
This training course is intended to give the staff sufficient knowledge and experience to identify the appropriate extinguisher for use on a particular fire, and use it safely. Typically two hours in duration and covers:
Theory of combustion / triangle of fire
Classification of fire – Classes A B C D E & F and selection of correct fire fighting media
Use of equipment and limitations of equipment and individuals
We offer different levels of training to suit your needs with either a half-day or full day seminar. Typically a half-day fire risk assessment seminar covers:
Workplace fire precautions legislation requirements
Fire risk assessment procedures
A fire risk assessment exercise
Open forum
Full day courses are intended for some people with some fire safety knowledge, but require a brief overview, with emphasis on fire risk assessment techniques.
This course covers practical fire training using first aid fire fighting equipment, intended to give staff the confidence to tackle a small fire safely. Typically two hours in duration and covering:
Theory of combustion / triangle of fire
Classification of fire – Classes A B C D & F and selection of correct fire fighting media
Use of equipment and limitations of equipment and individuals
On site fire risk management for care staff, intended to provide staff at all levels with the required knowledge associated with the dangers of fire in care homes. Typically 2 hours in duration and covering the following:
Understanding fire
Fire hazards and risk
Fire routines and staff training
Fire safety measures
Bespoke Training
Individual packages can be designed to meet the needs of the client, the working environment and address any specific areas, such as Fire Marshal Training.
To provide staff with information regarding the causes of manual handling and providing them with safe handling practices. Typically three hours in duration and covers:
Manual handling regulations
Structure and function of the spine and injuries caused
Methods of reducing back injuries
Employer / employee responsibilities
Theory and practical session
As above, but with the general focus being on the care industry. The course also includes:
Practical session involving the use of slide sheets
Correct methods that should be adopted when moving & handling people
Practical risk assessments on inanimate objects
Aim of this course is to provide staff with information regarding health & safety at Work. Ideal on its own or as part of new staff induction training, this course typically includes:
Purpose of health & safety
Management of health & safety at work regulations (six pack)
